Here's Your Sign
Hazel Eyez' comment on my last post reminded me of a similar sign. This was back in the 70's in the hamlet of Las Vegas. No, not that Las Vegas. The one in northern New Mexico. My late great friend (who also happened to be my father-in-law) and I used to pass through there fairly regularly en route to our favorite trout streams in the Sangre de Cristos. We were continually amused by the liquor store that was there, and for all I know still is, which bore the double entendre signage:
Dick's Liquors
Back home in Roswell, there was a guy named Dick Callens, who owned a cropdusting business called "Dick Callens Spraying Service." Only problem was the local phone book tended to list last name first, so in the bold-face entry in the white pages, it read:
Callens Dick Spraying Service
Hey, whatever it takes to draw attention to your business, pal.
