Postcards From The Road
After Tuesday's dust storm, Wednesday morning was shockingly clear. Beautiful. I had to go see a lawyer up in Paradise Valley, one of the prettiest areas in the Valley of the Sun. I was at 44th Street and Tatum, skirting around the west end of Camelback Mountain, when it really struck me how clear it was. Well, clear by major metropolitan standards, anyway. It looked like I could roll my window down, reach out, and touch the Praying Monk. Man, I love living here. Where else can you see that in the middle of a huge city?
That's when I saw it. It was a Dodge minivan with a driver and a couple of kids, and three bumper stickers on the back hatch:
Led Zeppelin
I Know How You Feel. I Just Don't Care.
Life's Short, Pray Hard.
I dunno. Just seems like a weird combination of thoughts to me,
