Winter Wonderland In The Valley Of The Sun!
The Lost Dutchman must be freezing his ass off about now up in the Superstitions.
We here in The Valley of The Sun woke up yesterday to what looked like a scene from The Lord of the Rings. No, not hoardes of ugly-ass critters surrounding us while drooling and speaking unitelligibly.....that happens sometimes, but usually only in Apache Junction or Gila Bend. What I mean is we were in beautiful crystal clear sunshine with a blue sky so bright it hurt your eyes to look at it, and the desert mountains in all directions were capped with bright white snow. It was simply unbelievable. I saw as much snow on the Superstitions as I've ever seen there, and could even see the white stuff on the McDowells north of Scottsdale. It was literally everywhere (except down here, of course), and the air was so clear it seemed as though we could see Flagstaff and Tucson. TFMCD and Bo grabbed cameras and headed out to document the wonderment. Wayners and I did the only natural thing to do under these types of conditions: We played golf with Steve-O and Tipsy Tommy From Texas.
It's the first time I've ever played golf in shorts while surrounded on virtually all sides by snow.
Even Ladybug got into the act. I'm thinking a smaller camera might be in order.
Locals know we have to enjoy this type of thing while it lasts. Blink your eyes and it's gone, and in it's place, you're driving with one finger to avoid burning your hands on your steering wheel. Another month, and it'll be time for phloatin' with my phriends in Crime Dog's Margaritaville West Tiki Bar and Cement Pond.
Will the party be at my house? God, I wonder who will come?
