I Don't Know Where I'm A-Gonna Go In That Barn of Cantaloupes
Ever have a song lyric you sang for years, only to find out that you completely screwed it up, and had the words wrong the whole time? You're not alone. Sometime when you have a minute or two to waste, slide on over to Kiss This Guy and browse around. You won't feel nearly as stupid once you see what lyrics a lot of other people were singing.
The "Barn of Cantaloupes" referenced above is easily my favorite, followed closely by "Wastin' Away Again In My Dirigible". But the prize for weirdness has to go to either the the guy who somehow heard "shoot your load in Granny" in The Band's The Load, or the dude who thought Van Morrison sang "gunnin' down the old man with a transistor radio" in Brown Eyed Girl. Those are some cats who gots issues.
